5 Myths About Printed Badges That Every Manager Should Know

In the manufacturing world, badges are used to signify many different things and can be customized to represent either an individual or an entire group of people. For example, if you’re in charge of working with the press crew on your factory floor, you can use badges to distinguish which members of the crew have been trained and which ones still need additional training. Here are five myths about Printed badges that every manager should know.

1  No benefits to using them

While a printed badge may not look as sleek as an RFID tag, they can be printed with your company's logo and information. These items make excellent employee gifts and are a great way to give conference attendees something lasting to remember your event by. Additionally, you can use them for promotional purposes or distribute them to employees at your company holiday party. There are plenty of benefits to using printed badges that should be considered before making a decision about whether or not to purchase them.

2  Badges do not have an impact

The truth is that badges have an effect on all employees, whether they recognize it or not. Even if your badge doesn’t say anything about a change in rank, you will still feel and respond to it as such. As you move up in a company and earn higher level badges, your responsibilities increase as well. If you take on more responsibility, expect more stress. This isn’t always a bad thing – there are some people who thrive under pressure – but for most of us, it can be overwhelming. When your stress levels rise above normal, you may find yourself less effective at work than usual.

3  Badges cannot be used in face-to-face communication

In some cases, printed badges are used for communicating with others face-to-face. For example, in trade shows or exhibitions, managers hold up their own badges to welcome customers and communicate with them face-to-face. This is one effective way of building a personal connection at work. So do not believe anyone who tells you that printed badges cannot be used in face-to-face communication. Sometimes it's very useful and effective way to promote your business or product in fairs and exhibitions.

4  Badges are impossible to personalize

There’s no way to add my company logo. - This is probably one of those myths that most managers believe to be true, but you should remember that there are countless types of badges and different designs for each industry. No matter what kind of organization you belong to, there’s a type of badge suited to your specific needs and design preferences. Print badges as magnets, pins or even something as simple as a lanyard card; anything is possible with printed badges! No design?

5  Badges are only for corporate

Don’t think that badges are only useful in a corporate setting. If you have a team of staff or consultants, it is easy to use a badge maker to brand everyone on your team so you can identify each other easily and quickly. Not only will you be making sure everyone on your team can be easily identified, but a professional badge also looks more respectable than any business card. This makes it easier for you to conduct business when out in public as well as at events where people may not know who you are yet.
